Job Title: Library Director

Our library serves as a hub for knowledge, culture, and creativity, providing a wide range of resources, programs, and services to meet the diverse needs of our patrons.
Position Overview: We are seeking a visionary and innovative Library Director to lead our organization into its next chapter of growth and development. The Library Director will oversee all aspects of library operations, including strategic planning, budget management, staff supervision, and community outreach. The successful candidate will have a passion for libraries and a strong commitment to serving our community.
Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic leadership and direction to achieve the library’s mission and goals.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective library operations.
• Manage the library’s budget, including financial planning, allocation of resources, and grant writing.
• Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate library staff to maintain a high-performing team.
• Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, creativity, and professional growth.
• Cultivate partnerships and collaborations with community organizations, schools, and local government agencies.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of the library’s collection, including digital resources and technology.
• Plan and coordinate a diverse range of programs, events, and services to meet the needs and interests of patrons of all ages.
• Stay current on trends and best practices in library science, technology, and community engagement.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in library science not necessary, but experience in management, budgeting, and staff supervision strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service and fostering a welcoming and inclusive library environment.
• Some knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in library services and information management.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
